Dubai, UAE – 14 September 2026: The 33rd edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) opens today at Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together destinations, airlines, hotels, tourism authorities, technology companies, travel suppliers and industry professionals from around the world.
Running from 14–17 September, ATM 2026 arrives at an important moment for the global travel industry. This year’s event is focused not simply on promoting destinations, but on rebuilding partnerships, strengthening confidence and examining how technology will reshape travel over the coming years.
The theme for this year's event, “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” reflects the industry's changing priorities. Artificial intelligence, digital transformation, smart mobility, sustainability and changing traveller expectations are expected to dominate discussions across the four-day event.
What is new at ATM 2026?
One of the biggest additions this year is ATM Travel Tech, a dedicated co-located exhibition focused on the technology transforming the travel ecosystem.
More than 180 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected across the technology-focused halls, while the 850-square-metre Tech & Innovation Hub will showcase developments in artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, fintech and green technology.
The programme will also examine emerging areas such as agentic AI, digital discovery, online travel platforms, automation and next-generation travel technology. Industry names including Sabre, Trip.com, Tripadvisor, Wego, MakeMyTrip, RateGain and Visa are among those participating in discussions around the future of the sector.
Why does ATM matter?
ATM has evolved beyond a conventional tourism exhibition. It has become a meeting point where governments, tourism authorities, airlines, hotels, travel companies and technology businesses can develop partnerships and identify new commercial opportunities.
That role is particularly important following a period of disruption for the travel industry. ATM 2026 is therefore placing greater emphasis on resilience, collaboration and restoring confidence while looking ahead to future growth.
For businesses, the value of ATM is not limited to the exhibition floor. Its conference programme brings policymakers, researchers and industry leaders together to discuss market conditions, investment, technology and changing consumer behaviour.
Why Dubai and the GCC?
The choice of Dubai is significant. The city has established itself as an international aviation, hospitality, business and tourism hub, connecting markets across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The GCC is also becoming increasingly important to the global tourism industry as countries across the region invest in destinations, infrastructure, aviation, hospitality, entertainment and technology.
ATM’s focus on rebuilding traveller confidence and strengthening the GCC’s global tourism position reflects this wider transformation. A ministerial debate at the event will specifically examine how the region can strengthen its position and build a more resilient tourism future.
Looking towards Travel 2040
The central question at ATM 2026 is no longer simply where people will travel, but how they will travel in the future.
AI-powered planning, personalised experiences, digital platforms, smart mobility and sustainable tourism are already changing the industry. ATM 2026 provides a platform for the global travel community to explore how these technologies can translate into real business opportunities.
As ATM opens its doors in Dubai, the message is clear: the GCC is not only benefiting from the growth of global tourism — it is increasingly helping shape what the future of travel will look like.
